Description | OBJECTIVESTo learn about and reflect on the challenges for a sustainable agriculture that provides food security for future generations. CONTENTDuring the workshop you will be confronted with the challenges that researchers and policy makers are facing in their efforts to assure food security for future generations in a sustainable manner. The focus will be on developing countries and the workshop will also be attended by students from the masters module Sustainable Agriculture and by foreign students that participate in the Masters of Advance Studies in Integrated Crop Management (MAS-ICM, in collaboration with CABI, Delemont). PROGRAM1st day: Morning: Introduction (explaining CABI's activities in sustainable agriculture and introducing the Plantwise program). MAS-ICM students will present the agricultural challenges in their respective home country. They will present in groups of two (six 15-minute presentations). Afternoon: Three of the invited experts will present their visions for a sustainable agriculture in presentations of 30 minutes each. There will be 10 min for discussion after each talk. 2nd day: Morning: The remaining four invited experts will present their visions (30 minutes plus 10 min discussion. |

Expenses | Registration feeFree for all PhD students of the doctoral programs DPEE, DP-biol and CUSO MPS, and MAS students. It incudes coffee breaks and lunches. Other participants have to pay 60.00 at the registration desk on the first day. ReimbursementPhD students of the DPEE are eligible for reimbursement of incurred travel expenses by train (half-fare card, and 2nd class).
