Description | Geolocated data is becoming pervasively present into large data sets used by scientists of all kinds. While design of spatial information is now a well known domain, two aspects still bring challenges to researchers:
This seminar will address these two aspects by inviting best specialists of these two domains.
The course will welcome Prof. Karine Zeitouni UVSQ (http://perso.prism.uvsq.fr/~zeitouni/). Prof. Zeitouni is head of ADAM lab (Ambient Data Access and Mining) (https://goo.gl/UUn0He). Karine Zeitouni is a Professor in Computer Science at the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines / IUT of Vélizy. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Paris 6 in 1991, and her HDR (qualification for supervising research) from the University of Versailles on 2006. She is heading the Ambient Data Access and Mining (ADAM) group at PRiSM laboratory. Her main research interest lies in spatiotemporal databases and knowledge extraction, with a focus on applications in the fields of transportation, environment and universe science. She has supervised 10 graduate PhD thesis, and co-supervise currently 4 PhD students. She has co-authored around 100 peer-reviewed articles including 9 journal papers and 66 in conferences'proceedings, and has co-edited 7 books or journal special issues. She regularly serves as a PC member conferences in the field of (spatial) databases and knowledge discovery at national (BDA, SAGEO, EDA, …) and international (SIGSPATIAL, SSTD, and some editions of DAWAK, ADBIS, CIKM, SIGMOD) levels and as a reviewer for national and international journals in these domains.
