Detailed information about the course
Title | Approaches to fitting non-linear models |
Dates | 13 July 2018 |
Organizer(s) | Dr. Marta Bellone, Coordinator of the CUSO Doctoral Program in Ecology and Evolution |
Speakers | Dr Etienne Low-Decarie, University of Essex (UK) |
Description | This workshop will tackle fitting non-linear models to data in R. The workshop will be a combination of lectures and practical exercises using a diversity of data types. Approaches for fitting presented will include different algrithms for least-squares optimisation and maximum likelihood approaches. Approaches for estimating prediction error will include Monte-Carlo simulations and boostrapping. |
