Description

Le séminaire annuel extra muros a pour but de permettre aux doctorants et aux post-doctorants d'approfondir leurs connaissances dans une des disciplines principales en sciences pharmaceutiques.

 

 

Co-organized by the Pharmaceutical technology and the Clinical pharmacy sciences research units of the EPGL, this full week will follow a translational science approach.

Programme

 

Preliminary program:

 

7 half-day sessions, from Monday afternoon to Friday morning. An opportunity for PhD students to:

· learn about a variety of research topics,

· meet scientists, network,

· and present your own research

 

EPGL researchers and external invited speakers will share their initial idea and the path followed towards their objective, improving health.

 

Some of them have translated their ideas to a start-up company. With the help of entrepreneurs from the Canton of Valais, you will have the opportunity to participate in an innovation workshop.

 

A special session will be dedicated to soft skills.

· Selected ideas from EPGL researchers

o Prof. Serge Rudaz: Fight against medicine counterfeiting

o Prof. Robert Gurny: Novel biocopolymers, based on a poly lactic acid backbone

o Dr. Olivier Dorchies: Tamoxifen, an efficient treatment for Duchenne muscular distrophy

 

· Medical imaging: From contrast-enhanced procedures to molecular imaging

o Prof. Norbert Lange: Introduction to medical imaging

o Alex L. Vahrmeijer: Optical imaging of breast cancer

o Hubert van den Bergh: Imaging in ophthalmology

o Prof. Farshid Sadeghipour: GMP production of radiopharmaceutics

 

· Practical workshop with 4 entrepreneurs from the Valais

o Would you create a start-up company from the concept of your PhD thesis project, with Massimo Nobile (Cymark), Philippe Meuwly (Pharmalp), Jean-Philippe Kunz (GnuBiotics), Matthew Hall (SimplicitBio)

 

· Oncology: new targets, delivery systems, and influence of nutrition

o Prof. Konstantinos Tamvakopoulos: combined treatment

o Prof. Marie Cohen: A new target

o Prof. Olivier Tillement: AGuIX nanoparticles, from the concept to first in Man

o Dr Yves Dupertuis: Nutrition and cancer

 

· Safe and effective use of drugs through the different ages of life

o Prof C. Meier: Post-marketing research based on pharmacoepidemiological research

o Prof Y. Kaplan: Can we pool data to improve the level of evidence of drug use?

o Dr Alice Panchaud: metformine during pregnancy: is it safe?

o Dr Pierre-Olivier Lang: Polypharmacy and geriatrics: can we improve patients'care?

 

· Soft skills session: « Intégrer et gérer ses émotions et celles de ses interlocuteurs pour optimiser les relations professionnelles »
