Information détaillée concernant le cours
Titre | Spectrométrie de masse (cours) |
Dates | Semestre d'automne, Mardi 15:15-17:00 |
Organisateur(s)/trice(s) | |
Intervenant-e-s | Hopfgartner Gérard, PO, UNIGE, Michalet Sophie, adjointe scientifique, UNIGE |
Description | The major objectives of the course is to be up to date with the most commonly used mass spectrometric techniques for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of elements, low-molecular weight compounds and macromolecules (peptides and proteins). The instrumental theory classes will be common for both MSc (chemistry; respectively proteomics and bioinformatics), and the specific application lectures will be given in parallel for each MSc. Theory: - Ionisation techniques (EI/CI, MALDI, API, ICP) - Mass analysers (Quadrupole, time-of-flight, ion trap, Fourier-transform mass analysers) - High-resolution mass spectrometry - Tandem mass spectrometry - Coupling of separation sciences with mass spectrometric detection Applications: MSc in chemistry - Applications of mass spectrometry for the characterisation of elements, low-molecular weight compounds and metal complexes - Structure elucidation by mass spectrometry |
