A NEW EDITION WILL BE ORGANISED IN 2021.
For 2 days a small group of PhD students will go hiking around Rosswald and Binn (Saflischtal & Binntal, Valais, Switzerland) accompanied by a specialist in the alpine flora. They will spend the night at the Gasthaus Heiligkreuz.
Students will study plants in link with their PhD projects, or the research conducted in their labs, and will prepare a presentation for the group on a publication, in relation to their research and the plants observed in the field.
Cases of plant-insect coevolution, plant adaptation to freezing in high mountains, observation of the rhizosphere, parasitism in plants, relationships between soil acidity and plant composition, and morphological variations of plants due to environmental pressures will be presented and discussed. Students can access the Gasthaus Heiligkreuz (1472 m), where we will identify plants and get some rest, by train, telecabine, bus and on foot. |

Reimbursements:
Common meals and accomodation will be arranged.
Reimbursements for CUSO MPS Students: Train ticket, 2°class, half-fare from your institution to the place of the activity.
Reimbursement form attached with original tickets has to be sent to the MPS coordinator Zoia Debora at University of Lausanne, Department of Molecular Plant Biology, Biophore - quartier UNIL-Sorge, 1015 Lausanne.

Deadline for registration: 1 May 2020
Please note that for cancellations after the 01.05.2020 the participant will be charged of 94 CHF (costs of the nights+dinner). Moreover, for late-cancellations (three days prior to the event) an additional 20 CHF will be charged (costs of the lunch of day 2).
