Description

What has come to be known as the long Eighteenth Century is bookended by the Stuart and Bourbon Restorations. This doctoral workshop will enable students to think about 'restoration' as both concept and metaphor, to compare its usage at the two ends of the long century, and to analyze its role in forming notions of periodization.
