Description | Together with collaborators from other universities, the swiss topologists have organized four international conferences in algebraic topology in Switzerland since 1999, each with approximately 80 participants. Proceedings of these conferences were published in the Contemporary Mathematics series of the AMS. In 2016 we start a new tradition, providing a unique forum for dialogue between pure and applied topology, in addition to fostering interactions within each subfield. The 2016 edition will take place in Saas-Almagell (VS), August 15- 21. We plan to schedule a total of 25 talks, on subjects covering a wide range of topics in homotopy theory, K-theory, and applied topology. In particular, thirteen highly respected experts based in six countries have accepted to give plenary talks. |
